Installation is simply finding a stud; verifying you are near the middle of its width; marking the center of the 2 holes in the device base part; tapping a small starter hole with the provided nail and your hammer slightly into the stud through the drywall or plaster; using your hammer again to tap the provided fastener a bit into the stud …this sometimes needs more than one tap to get it to “bite”… cranking down the fastener bolt with a small wrench (3/8”) or a 3/8" socket wrench (which is faster) until it is snug; then repeating those steps with the second fastener.
When the base is fastened to the wall snugly, place the cover over the base.
Now, when a cable is inserted through the small hole, your security bolt fasteners are inaccessible.
